AVZ Minerals Ltd is an Australian mineral exploration company that was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. The firm carries out a large percentage of its exploration work in Central Africa, with a primary focus on the development of the Manono Project, which is exploring potentially one of the world's largest lithium-rich LCT (lithium, caesium, tantalum) pegmatite deposits. The Manono Project is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in Central Africa, 500 kilometres north of Lubumbashi. AVZ Minerals holds a 75% interest in the project, as well as 100% interest in the surrounding Manono Extension Project which has a focus on lithium, tin, and tantalum. The Project covers the Manono Mine, a pegmatite deposit which was previously mined for its tin content, from 1919 to 1982. The company also has interests in various other exploration projects in the region, primarily exploring for lithium, tin, tantalum and associated minerals. The company’s subsidiaries include AVZ Minerals Congo SARL, AVZ International Pty Ltd, and AVZ Power. The firm is listed on the ASX and trades under the stock ticker AVZ.
