Formerly known as Westralian Sands Limited, the company changed its name to Iluka Resources Limited in May 1999. Iluka Resources operates its business through a number of segments, including Jacinth-Ambrosia/Mid West, United States/Murray Basin Sierra Rutile and Cataby/South West. The company produces zircon, ilmenite, titanium dioxide products, iron concentrate and activated carbon products. Iluka Resources’ products are employed in a wide range of applications, including the creation of permanent magnets. Its products are used in medical, lifestyle, technology, construction and industrial applications. The company operates internationally in Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas. In February 2020, Iluka Resources announced plans to demerge its Mining Area C royalty business. The demerger was completed in October 2020, and Deterra Royalties Limited began trading on the Australian Securities Exchange separately. Since February 1999, stock for Iluka Resources has been listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, where it trades under the ILU ticker.
