In November 2021, Northern Star Resources announced that it had agreed to acquire Newmont’s power business from Newmont Australia in a deal for $95m. The acquisition is expected to lower costs at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Limited and provide greater control over the supply of electricity.
