Sika is a specialty chemicals company involved in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, reinforcing and protecting the building sector and the motor vehicle industry. The company has a workforce of more than 24,000 people and subsidiaries operating in 101 countries around the world. Sika manufactures its products in over 300 factories around the world. Sika won the Swiss Technology Award 2019 in the "Innovation Leaders" category, thanks to its new technology used in lightweight construction in the field of transportation. That same year, the company announced that it is starting to operate a new mortar plant at its existing site in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which will help Sika expand its portfolio of locally manufactured products.
