Aker BP is headquartered in Fornebu outside Oslo and is an E&P company, focused on oil exploration, development and production activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. In addition to its headquarters, the company has offices in Harstad, Sandnessjøen, Stavanger, and Trondheim. Aker BP employs approximately 1,371 people. Measured in production, Aker BP is one of the largest independent oil companies in Europe. It has a balanced portfolio and is the operator of the Valhall, Ula, Ivar Aasen, Alvheim and Skarv field hubs. In 2019, the company announced a new well intervention and stimulation alliance, Schlumberger and Stimwell Services, whose goal is to accelerate and boost oil production, focused on hydrocarbon production on new and existing assets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
