The company formed a joint venture with Guangdong Nation Synergy Hydrogen Power Technology Co Ltd in 2016 to produce fuel cell stacks in China. Ballard also works in collaboration with Seimens on a long-term development agreement to power its Mireo commuter trains. The company was awarded the GreenTech 2017 Prize in recognition of its work powering Europe’s largest fuel cell bus fleet in Aberdeen, Scotland.
