Founded in 2006 due to a merger between Natexis Banque Populaire and IXIS, Natixis is a French financial services provider, operating primarily in the field of corporate and investment banking. Additional services provided by Natixis include wealth management, risk analysis, equities, and commodities. The company also operates as a bookrunner. Natixis founded the Natixis Foundation for Quantitative Research in 2006. Its mission is to encourage increased research in mathematical finance. Traded as KN.PA on the Euronext Paris, Natixis went public in 2006. KN.PA stock is also part of the CAC Next 20 component, an index of the 20 stocks with the highest capitalisation after the 40 stocks that comprise the CAC 40. Natixis is considered one of the most successful bookrunners in all of France. But what is a bookrunner? It is a financial institution that is responsible for underwriting and managing some aspects of new securities. One example is helping companies with their IPO when they decide to go public for the first time. Bookrunners also help aspiring public companies by providing them with underwriting assurances. This is often simply a promise to buy all unsold shares during the IPO. Find out more about Natixis and KN.PA stock on the eToro platform.
