It provides cloud-based data services to about 30,000 customers in a wide range of industries, including Uber, Google Search, and IBM. The company claims to have the most productive database in the market, designed to cater to the latest requirements of application developers. Instead of relying on SQL, MongoDB uses JSON, an open standard file format. MongoDB has four core products: MongoDB Enterprise Advanced, MongoDB Atlas, the Enterprise Service, and Community Service. MongoDB Enterprise Advanced is a service suite consisting of proprietary database service, analytics integration, enterprise management, and technical support. MongoDB Atlas is a cloud-hosted database-as-a-service (DBaaS) that includes infrastructure and community server service. The Enterprise Server is MongoDB’s proprietary database, while the Community Service is MongoDB’s database that can be downloaded for free. MongoDB also offers consulting, training, and similar professional services to its clients. The company continues to release new features and enhancements every quarter, which began in 2020.
