In 2013, Tableau launched its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange and raised more than $250 million. In mid 2019, Salesforce announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement with Tableau, under which Salesforce will acquire Tableau in an all-stock transaction. Tableau will continue to operate independently under the Tableau brand following the acquisition.
