iShares Preferred & Income Sec is an Exchange Traded Fund overseen by BlackRock, Inc. It was launched on 26 March 2007. The fund intends to monitor the performance of component securities of its benchmark, the ICE Exchange-Listed Preferred & Hybrid Securities Index. The index tracks a carefully chosen set of US dollar-denominated preferred, hybrid, and convertible preferred securities traded on the NYSE or NASDAQ. Preferred stocks both pay a set dividend and signify ownership in a company. The top sectors in which the fund operates are financial institutions, industrial, utility, cash and/or derivatives, and agency.
