iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol USA

iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol USA is an exchange traded fund managed by BlackRock, Inc. This ETF was launched on 18 October 2011 to monitor the investment results of lower-volatility equities in the US market. The ETF invests in an equity portfolio that replicates as much as possible the mix of large and mid-capitalisation securities in the MSCI World Minimum Volatility Index against which the fund’s investments are benchmarked. The goal is to enable investors to gain total returns that mirror the benchmark returns. The fund tracks US-listed companies chosen and correlated to comprise a portfolio with relatively lower volatility and risk than the general US equity market. The fund’s policy is to invest a majority of its economic resources in securities included in the MSCI World Minimum Volatility Index and other assets with economic attributes similar to those securities. The top sectors in which the fund operates are information technology, healthcare, communication, consumer staples, industrials, consumer discretionary, financials, utilities, real estate, materials, energy, and cash and/or derivatives.
