iShares Russell 1000 Value ETF, launched on 22 May 2000, is managed by BlackRock, Inc. Its goal is to monitor the investment performance of its benchmark, the Russell 1000 Value Index, which lists mid-to-large capitalisation US companies with high dividend yield and low price-to-book and price-to-earnings ratios. iShares Russell 1000 Value ETF aims to invest mostly in the securities and depositary receipts that comprise its benchmark, the Russell 1000 Value Index, as well as other securities with economic traits comparable to those in the index. A small proportion of the fund’s resources may be invested in derivatives such as swap, futures, and options contracts, and in cash and equivalents. The fund provides exposure to US stocks that the market undervalues in comparison to other companies. It serves the goals of investors who may want to tilt their portfolio towards value stocks for higher returns. The top sectors in which the fund operates are financials, healthcare, industrials, information technology, communication, consumer staples, consumer discretionary, energy, utilities, real estate, materials, and cash and/or derivatives.
