10 year Treasury (Expiring Future)

The 10-Year Treasury Future was created to monitor the movements and performance of US Treasury notes that have a maturity of 10 years. It is considered to be an indicator of investor confidence in the markets.The 10-Year Treasury note yield is frequently used as a benchmark for setting lending rates, such as for mortgages. The market pricing of futures contracts is generally based on the cheapest to deliver (CTD). The price and yield have opposite correlations. The yield is boosted by falling prices and a rise in price causes the yield to lower.
