The original name of the company was Aktiengesellschaft für Transport- und Rückversicherung. A rather cumbersome name that was dropped in favour of the simplified Hannover Ruck SE or Hannover Ruck SE in English. Trading as HNR1.DE, Hannover Ruck SE went public in 1994, after several failed attempts. HNR1.DE stock is available for trade on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
