DCP Midstream LP is an American Fortune 500 natural gas company that, in tandem with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the acquisition, operation and development of midstream energy assets. Initially known as DCP Midstream Partners, the company was established in 2005 and changed its name to DCP Midstream LP in 2017. The firm is based in Denver, Colorado, and is one of the largest natural gas liquids producers and marketers in the US, as well as one of the largest natural gas processors in the country. The company operates through two business segments: Logistics and Marketing, and Gathering and Processing. The Logistics and Marketing segment is engaged in the transportation, trading, marketing and storing of natural gas NGLs, as well as fractionating NGLs. The Gathering and Processing segment is involved in gathering, compressing, treating and processing natural gas, as well as producing and fractionating NGLs and recovering condensate. DCP Midstream operates across approximately 35 natural gas processing plants in the United States, primarily serving petrochemical and refining companies, along with retail propane distributors.
