ETH GBP offers pound sterling denominated exposure to the price of Ether, the native cryptocurrency of the Ethereum smart contract and DAPP platform. A utility token rather than pure ‘currency’, intended as a medium of payment for general goods and services, Ether coins are ‘spent’ in exchange for the computational power of the Ethereum blockchain. ETH/GBP can be used by traders in long positions, betting on an increase in the exchange value of Ether against the pound. Alternatively, a short ETH GBP would be taken if a trader expects the exchange value of Ether to fall against the pound.
