Balancer

Balancer is an automated market maker (AMM) and trading platform for cryptoassets that allows users to collect fees from traders and earn incentives in the form of the native crypto token of the platform (BAL). Balancer Lab began as a software firm called BlockScience in 2018, founded by Fernando Martinelli and Mike McDonald. BAL is an altcoin hosted on the Ethereum blockchain and powers the Balancer protocol which allows anyone create or add liquidity to trading pools within the platform, earning trading fees for doing so. Balancer trading pools can have up to 8 tokens, with each token individually weighted within the pool, allowing one token to make up as little as 2% of the total.
