Theta

Theta is a decentralised blockchain powered network purpose built for video streaming. Founded by Mitch Liu and Jeiyi Long, the Theta network allows users to share resources and bandwidth on a P2P basis. The native cryptocurrency of the network is the THETA altcoin, launched in 2018, and originally distributed as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Later those original ERC-20 tokens were converted to native THETA tokens, which have various uses within the network, and are traded on crypto exchanges worldwide. The total supply of THETA tokens is capped at 1bn, and it is one of two tokens used within the network. The other is Theta Fuel (TFUEL) which users receive as rewards for sharing network resources. The platform is an open-source, proof-of-stake blockchain ecosystem, allowing token holders to receive governance powers within the network.
