My Neighbor Alice

My Neighbor Alice is a decentralised free-to-play blockchain-based multiplayer builder game, inspired by popular title Animal Crossing. Announced in 2020, My Neighbor Alice was created by Antler Interactive, a Swedish mobile gaming studio, and built on top of the Chromia blockchain using ChromaWay technology. The game is intended to serve as an uncomplicated introduction to blockchain and decentralised finance (DeFi) for ordinary players. Players are able to buy and own virtual plots of land on one of the game’s six islands, collect and build items, and meet other users. The game involves a narrative for players to follow as well as an ecosystem for trading non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Game items can be traded as NFTs through the in-game marketplace as well as on other blockchains. My Neighbor Alice utilises the ALICE token, the game's native cryptocurrency, which allows holders to play, invest, and enjoy the game itself. ALICE can be used to purchase in-game assets – including land and cosmetics – and players can earn ALICE by participating in in-game events.
