The firm was founded in 1999. The company was responsible for pioneering the “software as a service,” (SaaS) model back in 1999, which quickly spread across the technology industry. The firm’s products include Customer 360, which is a system that connects marketing, sales, commerce, service, and IT teams across an organisation, with a single view of customer data. Other products from the company include Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Salesforce Inbox and Einstein Relationship Insights. The firm’s customers use its solutions to store data, monitor leads and progress, forecast opportunities, and gain insights through analytics and relationship intelligence. In 2021, Salesforce completed its acquisition of Slack, a cloud-based messaging platform with a focus on bringing an organization’s people and tools together in one digital workspace, to allow for consistent collaboration and productivity across teams and departments.
