NetEase, Inc. is a Chinese internet technology company that is primarily engaged in the provision of online content, community, communication, and commerce services. Founded in 1997, the company is headquartered in Hangzhou, China, and operates across China, North America, and Japan. The firm is responsible for the development of some of the most popular PC-client and mobile games in the Chinese market, such as Fantasy Westward Journey Online and New Westward Journey Online II. NetEase also operates some of the most popular international online games in China through its partnerships with international game developers such as Blizzard Entertainment, and Microsoft’s Mojang AB. The firm also operates Youdao, as a majority controlled subsidiary, which provides intelligent learning technology and a range of online education based products and services, such as Youdao Premium Courses, Youdao Dictionary, and Youdao Dictionary Pen. Other services provided by the company include music streaming platform, NetEase Cloud Music, email service, NetEase Mail, NetEase News, and a private label e-commerce platform called Yanxuan.
